Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has officially unveiled his latest creative project and first-of-its-kind footwear brand, Ohana Hatake. Its name is taken from the Japanese words meaning “field of flowers,” reports Hypebeast.

The project was teased over the course of the year with three limited-edition releases, one of which was the Ohana Full-Bloom slides released in collaboration with BLACKPINK.
Now, Ohana Hatake’s inauguration is officially marked with two original silhouettes that include new colorways for the Ohana Full-Bloom as well as a brand-new model called the Surippa Ohana—all created in collaboration with footwear experts VIOLET ST.

The new Ohana Full-Bloom slides come in two colorways: Apricot, and Raspberry Rose. Meanwhile, the first version of the Surippa Ohana will be released later in a colorway called Rust.

"I'm aiming for an expression that explores the very connection between American and Japanese culture. I would love it if those who wear these sandals could feel how this team managed to create something wonderful from my quirky, unconventional ideas," Murakami said.
