Design brand Arkadia-Life has unveiled the P01 Classic Sofa, an unusual single-seat armchair styled after a vintage sports car. Behind its striking exterior lies an array of high-tech features, including a built-in refrigerator, a wine compartment, a powerful sound system and wireless charging. Prices for this collectible design piece start at $30,000.
The company, which has a showroom in Shanghai, draws inspiration from “legendary iconic automobiles.” Guided by its “The One and Always” philosophy, Arkadia-Life transforms the recognizable silhouettes of classic coupes into exclusive furniture, combining automotive aesthetics with Italian craftsmanship.
A Retro Sports Car for Your Living Room
The P01 Classic Sofa’s design evokes sports cars from the 1960s. Its bulging, round headlights, amber turn signals, slim chrome bumpers and twin exhaust pipes create a distinctive automotive look. An engraved plaque adorns the rear of the body.

Although the manufacturer does not identify a specific car as its inspiration, the elongated hood and overall proportions of the chair bring to mind early versions of the Porsche 911.
Buyers can choose from several paint finishes. The standard palette includes GT Silver and Jet Green, while Miami Blue, Crayon and Speed Yellow are available at an additional cost. In total, nine automotive-inspired paint options are offered.
The seat is upholstered in genuine cowhide leather with parallel channel stitching. Its pleated finish recalls the upholstery of classic sports car seats. Eight leather colors are available.
Despite its name, the Sofa is designed for just one person.
A Refrigerator, Wine Compartment and Hidden Storage for Collectors
The P01’s main selling point is its functionality, concealed beneath the car-inspired bodywork. The rear lid lifts on small supports, much like the hood of a vintage automobile, revealing seven compartments.
The interior features a built-in refrigerator measuring approximately 22 × 34 × 14 cm, a wine storage compartment, adjustable cup holders and a wireless charging pad.

Additional drawers are hidden in the rear fenders. Both side panels open to reveal compartments for wristwatches and collectible model cars. The features appear tailored to enthusiasts of luxury accessories and automotive collectibles.
13 Speakers and Tap-to-Control Technology
Audio is provided by British brand SENSONUM, whose system combines a professional amplifier, a subwoofer and 13 speakers for immersive sound. Music can be streamed via Bluetooth, while a dedicated app allows users to customize the audio to their preferences. The system delivers a total output of 500 watts.
The controls do away with conventional buttons. Instead, five touch-sensitive panels are built into the body and respond to tapping. Arkadia-Life describes the technology as an industry first.
Multicolor ambient lighting runs beneath the side sills, allowing users to change the hues to suit their mood or the atmosphere of the room.
220 Kilograms and a Starting Price of $30,000
According to the manufacturer, the chair consists of hundreds of precisely fitted components, and its design is protected by several international patents. The company compares the quality of its finishing to the craftsmanship of fine watchmaking.

The P01 Classic Sofa weighs approximately 220 kilograms — a substantial figure for a piece of furniture that resembles a compact automobile.
Owners can personalize their chair by selecting the body and upholstery colors. They can also order a plaque styled like a car license plate, complete with custom engraving.
The Arkadia-Life P01 Classic Sofa is available to order through the brand’s official website. Prices start at $30,000, with the final cost available upon request.
