Tiffany & Co. continues to expand the legacy of its iconic “Bird on a Rock” design by introducing a stunning new collection of watches that reimagine the beloved motif — this time, as dazzling timepieces.

First created in 1965 by legendary designer Jean Schlumberger, the “Bird on a Rock” was inspired by a yellow cockatoo he encountered while on vacation. Since then, the brooch has become a symbol of Tiffany & Co.’s artistic heritage and design excellence.

The motif has experienced a major resurgence in recent years, particularly following the 2023 reopening of the brand’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. That relaunch featured five new brooch variations and a dramatic reinterpretation of the famed 128.54-carat Tiffany Yellow Diamond, set into a bird-shaped pendant.
Now, this celebrated motif enters the world of haute horology.
The new Bird on a Rock Legacy collection includes three exquisite timepieces, each crafted in 18k white gold and crowned with a diamond-encrusted bird perched atop a vibrant gemstone:
1.45-carat oval-cut morganite
2.1-carat emerald-cut aquamarine
2.72-carat cushion-cut tanzanite
Each gemstone is elegantly set beneath a mother-of-pearl dial with intricate floral engraving — a delicate design inspired by botanical patterns from Schlumberger’s house on Guadeloupe, the island where he first spotted the bird that became his lifelong muse.

In a unique twist, the gemstone can be admired not only from the front but also from the back of the watch, thanks to a magnifying crystal window on the case’s reverse side — merging artistry and technical ingenuity in one timeless creation.
