Armenian-American model, pageant participant, and titleholder Peggy Garabekian will represent Armenia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant. For the 30-year-old model, stepping onto this international platform is already a major victory. In an interview with NEWS.am STYLE, she shares insights into the competition's preparatory phase and the powerful message she plans to deliver on the Miss Universe stage.

“Competing for Miss Universe Armenia always felt like a distant dream—almost unattainable—because I knew how difficult it was to become a titleholder in the Miss Universe system. And then, this year, God ignited something in me. I felt His presence guiding me, telling me this was my time. I applied, the production team accepted me as a delegate, and my journey to the crown began,” Garabekian said.

Her pageant journey began in 2015, when she represented Armenia at the Miss Asia USA pageant.

“Now, exactly a decade later, I’ve come full circle—once again carrying Armenia’s name, but this time as Miss Universe Armenia 2025. It’s so evident that God was leading me to this very moment. The impossible dream was made possible by Him, and I achieved my biggest pageant career goal: becoming Miss Universe Armenia,” she added.

Miss Universe Armenia organization holds castings and has franchises all over the world—from Armenia to Asia to the United States.

“My competition took place in California, in a private show with the delegates and production team, which made the experience very personal and special. Honestly, whether or not I received the crown, I knew I had already won. Competing for Miss Universe Armenia was a dream I had worked toward for years, and simply reaching that stage meant I had achieved that dream. The outcome just added to that victory.”

Her next step is preparing for the Miss Universe 2025 competition, which will be held on November 25 in Thailand. According to the delegate, the lead-up to the pageant is an “incredible, multifaceted journey” that requires unwavering discipline and dedication.

At the same time, Garabekian is turning her attention to advocacy—focusing on organizations that fight for the rights of young girls and women, especially those denied basic human freedoms.

“These are women who are silenced—denied the right to speak, to think freely, to pursue education, to work, and to simply live with dignity. Too often, they suffer in silence, and it is our responsibility to be the voice they are not allowed to have,” she said.

“I am bringing attention to organizations like Nadia’s Initiative, which are courageously fighting to restore these freedoms. I am committed to using my platform to shed light on their struggles and push for lasting change.”

Faith also plays a central role in Garabekian’s message.

“My message is one of complete faith in Christ. When you place your dreams, your fears, your challenges, your triumphs—your entire being—into God’s hands, you begin to see how miraculously He works,” she said.

“In His perfect timing, He aligns everything, and you come to understand why things happen the way they do. I have witnessed the full power and wisdom of God in my own journey, and my life is a testimony of His presence. My message is to silence the noise of the world and entrust your heart, mind, spirit, and soul entirely to Him—because when your faith is placed in Christ alone, He will work wonders beyond imagination.”

Garabekian is confident that her previous pageant experience has built the foundation she needs to succeed at Miss Universe.

“Just like building a home, the first step is laying a strong foundation—and that takes time, energy, and perseverance. Over the past decade, every competition, every challenge, and every lesson has been another brick laid onto that foundation,” she said.

“Together, they have built an unshakable base that prepared me for this very moment. Brick by brick, I have grown into the woman and competitor I am today. And while I put in the work, I know it was ultimately God’s sovereign hand guiding each step and aligning me to now compete on the Miss Universe stage.”
