“Never betray your dream — no matter what.” This is the central message of the new romantic comedy A Winter's Song, though it’s far from the film’s only theme. Blending an American cinematic breath with an unmistakably Armenian spirit, the story aims to showcase Armenia to the world — its beauty, and the warmth that defines the Armenian New Year season. After its U.S. premiere, the film was presented for the first time in Yerevan on December 4.

The red carpet spotlight fell on the film’s young lead actors — Armenian-American talents who, much like their characters, were charmed by Armenia’s Christmas lights and festive streets, which they experienced firsthand while filming last year.

The Armenian-American production follows a young woman who, after her father’s death, finds herself struggling and searching for renewed inspiration in her roots. She decides to leave the U.S. and travel to Armenia in pursuit of her dream. There, she discovers more than she expected — not only a newfound creative spark, but also love. All this comes after a series of emotional challenges, but as actress Krista Marina — who plays the protagonist Liana — notes, her character’s journey carries a simple message: never give up on your dreams.

The film’s other key roles are played by Edgar Damatian, Jessie Bedrossian, and Judah McFadden. The actors share that during filming they not only enjoyed Yerevan’s winter atmosphere but also formed close friendships — bonds that have lasted long after the cameras stopped rolling.

Adding a special comedic charm to the project is British-Armenian actor and comedian Kev Orkian. The film also features Lily Vardan, Marine Petrosyan, Ara Sargsyan, Armine Anda, Hamlet Chobanyan, Levon Hakhverdyan, Kristine Danielyan, Gayane Yeghiazaryan, Gagik Ghazareh, and others.

The film is directed by Anzhela Asatryan. Executive producers are Karapet Kavukchyan, Sirvard Kavukchyan, and Narine Galstyan. Producers include Anzhela Asatryan, Ani Dashtoyan, Ivette M. Amirian, Kristine Sousa, Edgar Damadyan, and Mko Malkhasyan. Armenia’s co-producers are Armine Anda and Diana Avetisyan.

The creative team notes that beyond its artistic aims, the film seeks to position Armenia as a beautiful, culturally rich, and compelling tourist destination — one that should be on every traveler’s list. The project is also designed to attract broader international attention to the country.
