For the world’s wealthiest travelers, the sea is no longer just a vacation destination—it’s now a permanent home. Villa Vie Residences has announced a new residential cruise ship, currently dubbed Project Lumina, offering passengers the opportunity to live on board year-round, reports the New York Post.
The vessel will feature private residences with luxury amenities and personalized service. Prices start at $539,999 for ocean-view cabins and reach up to $899,999 for balcony suites.
“Project Lumina doesn’t replace our current flagship, the Odyssey,” emphasized Villa Vie co-founder Kathy Villalba. “This project expands our vision of life at sea and strengthens the long-term stability of our business.”
On board, residents can expect exclusive services similar to those offered on the Odyssey, which already accommodates 970 full-time passengers and completes a “continuous around-the-world cruise” touching more than 425 ports in 140 countries every three and a half years. Cabins on the Odyssey start at $189,999 for passengers aged 75–79, with monthly service fees of $2,999.
Details about the design, name, and inaugural voyage of Project Lumina will be revealed later, but the company promises that the new ship will set a “new standard for luxury living at sea.”
