Former First Lady Michelle Obama, 62, has revealed that she recently went all-in with a bold beauty move — getting 10 ear piercings in a single visit. She shared the story on the latest episode of her podcast IMO, which she hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson.

Michelle proudly showed off a “constellation” of tiny stud earrings, stretching across both her earlobes and cartilage.

“I had been thinking about getting more piercings for a long time, but never got around to it,” she told listeners.

The inspiration, she says, came from the younger generation — particularly her daughters Malia, 27, and Sasha Obama, 24, who have multiple ear piercings themselves.

“It had been over 20 years since my last piercing,” Michelle admitted. “I did a second hole before having children, but I stopped wearing an earring in it over time. Now, young people are getting more piercings. It’s beautiful.”

Initially, Michelle had planned to get just a few piercings, but once she sat in the chair, she decided to go further. “I came in for a pair, and then, as usual: ‘Let’s do this one… and this one… let’s try here,’” she laughed.

The result: ten piercings in one session. When Craig joked that it must have been painful, Michelle assured him it was easy. “Not bad at all. At least for me,” she said.

Interestingly, her husband, former President Barack Obama, didn’t notice the change immediately. “Barack finally noticed. A couple of days later,” she said with a laugh. He reportedly thought the difference was due to her wearing her hair down. “He said, ‘You just haven’t been tying your hair up.’ And I thought, ‘Hmm… we sleep in the same bed every night!’”

Michelle’s piercing confession comes weeks after her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she criticized the media’s obsession with her appearance during Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign.

“Articles about me often started with ‘She was wearing…’ rather than discussing my work,” she recalled. “It was all about how I looked. And it only got worse as our campaign picked up steam.”
