Lincoln is celebrated for abolishing slavery and leading the nation through the Civil War. Filming is scheduled to take place in London.
Saunders himself is adapting his novel for the big screen, while Oscar-nominated director and producer Duke Johnson (Anomalisa) will helm the project.
The film will feature a unique blend of stop-motion animation and live action, capturing one of the most intimate moments in Lincoln’s life—his relationship with his recently deceased 11-year-old son. The story explores themes of love, empathy, and humanity’s ability to navigate grief through the perspectives of an ensemble cast of living and dead, historical and fictional characters.
