Set after a significant time jump, the film explores the complex and often dark rule of Paul Atreides, once again played by Timothée Chalamet. Villeneuve has confirmed that this installment will serve as his definitive finale to the Dune cinematic universe, bringing his sweeping adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novels to a close.
The newly released character posters highlight the star-studded cast: Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Florence Pugh return, joined by exciting new additions including Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, as well as Robert Pattinson, Jason Momoa, and Isaach De Bankolé. These additions promise fresh intrigue and dynamic storylines within the epic saga.
The film’s release date is already sparking conversation. Dune: Part Three is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on December 18, 2026, setting up a direct box-office showdown with Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. Fans have already dubbed the event “Dunesday.”
