Louis Vuitton presents a new jewelry “miracle”: necklace with 21 Mozambique rubies

20:36, May 18

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a striking new piece of jewelry — the Conquest necklace from its high jewelry Mythica collection, featuring 21 Mozambique rubies with a total weight of 21.87 carats. The premiere took place in Marrakech, and the collection already signals a new direction in the brand’s fine jewelry line, Robb Report reports.

As the brand emphasizes, travel and the idea of a self-determined modern woman remain central themes of all Louis Vuitton jewelry projects. This concept formed the foundation of the Mythica collection, designed as a symbol of a “woman forging her own path.”

The key element of the Conquest necklace is a series of rare cushion-step-cut rubies. The stones from Mozambique were selected over a four-year period and are noted for their exceptional clarity and intense pinkish-red tone. Their visual impact evokes the legendary Burmese rubies historically considered the benchmark for quality.

At the center of the composition is a 1.07-carat diamond cut in the LV Monogram Star shape, serving as a subtle but recognizable signature of the house.

The necklace design is built on contrast: the rubies are framed by dynamic architecture made of three shades of gold — yellow, white, and rose — accented with onyx. According to the designers, the form resembles arrows and sparks, creating a sense of movement and inner energy.

The creation of the piece required four years of gemstone selection and more than 1,200 hours of handcrafted work. The jewelers aimed to highlight not only the color of the rubies but also their natural transparency, which is considered rare at this level.

The Mythica collection as a whole includes 110 pieces grouped into 11 thematic lines. In addition to rubies, it features Colombian emeralds, blue topaz, natural zircon, and Santa Maria aquamarines, used across a variety of geometric and fluid designs.
