China has a new viral social media hero, and he happens to be grilling up the best BBQ in town. A chef from Shaanxi province has blown up the internet thanks to his uncanny resemblance to Tesla and X boss Elon Musk, the Global Times reports.

In an incredible twist of fate, even his name is an exact match: the chef’s surname is actually Ma.

It all started when a customer at a restaurant in Tongchuan posted a short video of the worker online. The clip instantly went viral, showering the humble local eatery with overnight fame.

According to a business partner named Li, the "Musk lookalike" is in his 40s and serves as the restaurant's head barbecue chef.

After the video racked up millions of views, the restaurant's phone has been ringing off the hook. “Locals are calling specifically to ask if 'Grill-Master Musk' is on shift today,” reports the Qilu Evening News.

The man of the hour admits that his sudden rise to fame makes him feel "a little nervous." According to Chef Ma, dozens of tourists have descended upon the restaurant just to snag a selfie with him, while regular foot traffic has surged dramatically.

However, co-owner Li noted that customers frequently asked for photos with the chef long before the video went viral, having spotted his "billionaire features" way before it became a trend online.

This unexpected viral moment is already paying off: several companies have already approached the 40-year-old chef with offers for commercial partnerships. Chef Ma revealed that he plans to launch his own personal social media accounts soon, though he admits he currently knows nothing about live streaming or e-commerce.

Nevertheless, the "Chinese Musk" isn't turning his back on these new opportunities and says he’s open to future business proposals.
