A new documentary is shedding light on Elon Musk’s private life.

Among those featured in Musk, a documentary directed by Alex Gibney and released on October 16, is the tech billionaire’s first wife, Justine Musk. The couple was married from 2000 to 2008.

In the film, Justine claims that Elon referred to the mothers of his 14 children as “breeders.”

Justine and Elon have six children together, including their son Nevada, who died shortly after birth in 2002. According to Justine, Musk believed that “breeders are interchangeable.” She also claims that during their first dance at their wedding, Elon told her that he was the “alpha” in their relationship.

She also said that it was her marriage to Musk that introduced her to the term “gaslighting,” which refers to a form of manipulation in which a person is made to question their own memories, sanity or perception of reality.

“He constantly pointed out the ways in which he thought I wasn’t good enough,” Justine, 54, claims in Alex Gibney’s four-hour documentary.

Elsewhere in the film, Justine spoke about Musk’s insecurities surrounding his appearance. According to her, he would say: “I can’t look cool or fashionable because I need to look like an engineer.”

Following her split from the SpaceX founder, Justine has largely chosen not to speak publicly about the years they spent together.
