Johnny Depp put on a decidedly eccentric show at a Las Vegas party, unexpectedly deciding to snack on… decorative leaves.

The bizarre episode took place at a private party at Park MGM, held as part of the Drink Las Vegas festival to celebrate Depp’s rum brand, Three Hearts.

The actor arrived in his signature eccentric style, dressed entirely in black and wearing a wide-brimmed brown hat, tinted sunglasses and a collection of chunky rings covering nearly every finger. Depp was holding a drink as he posed for photographers in front of a wall covered in decorative greenery.

Then came the moment no one appeared to expect. The actor suddenly leaned toward the wall and literally buried his face in the artificial plants. Moments later, Depp emerged with a leaf in his mouth and began chewing it right in front of the photographers.

But the strange snack did not end there. Depp spit out the leaf, returned to the green wall and took another bite. This time, he raised his glass and smiled at the cameras while two artificial leaves stuck out of his mouth.

The footage of the eccentric stunt quickly caught fans’ attention. Depp, for his part, appeared to be treating the whole thing as a joke and happily continued posing for the cameras.

Later, the actor calmly mingled with guests, clinked glasses and chatted with people at the table, seemingly as though the entire “vegetable snack” episode had never happened.
