Even behind bars, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs apparently hasn’t grown accustomed to going without luxury. According to NBC News, the music mogul, who is serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, has access to contraband cellphones, drinks high-end alcohol, receives massages and even has other inmates prepare special meals for him and take care of his everyday chores.

Four men who were housed in the same prison unit as Combs told NBC News that the rapper spends thousands of dollars a month to maintain the lifestyle he was accustomed to before his incarceration.

“This is not something you usually see in prison. It’s like a rich man’s lifestyle. It looks crazy, but then again, it’s Diddy,” one inmate said.

According to the sources, 56-year-old Combs has an entire team of inmate assistants. Some prepare his food, clean his cell, make his bed and do his laundry, while others keep track of his personal belongings. The rapper also reportedly receives massages.

Combs has also allegedly obtained illicit cellphones, which he uses to browse Instagram and receive explicit photos from a former girlfriend. Several sources said he also has a hacked tablet that allows him to watch movies and documentaries, including the Netflix series Sean Combs: The Reckoning, produced by the rapper’s longtime rival 50 Cent.

NBC News sources also claimed that Combs purchased the prescription drug Remeron from other inmates, a medication reportedly known inside the prison as “Rem-Roms.” It is prescribed to people suffering from depression and anxiety, but according to the sources, it is also sold on the prison’s extensive black market.

“You can get pretty much anything here except the key to the front door and a woman,” one inmate said.

Alcohol, meanwhile, reportedly plays a particularly prominent role in the rapper’s prison routine. On weekends, Combs allegedly gets his hands on high-end liquor smuggled into the facility by prison staff and shares it with a small circle of inmates.

“Of course I did. I drank with him,” one man said, recalling drinking Hennessy cognac with the rapper.

To pay other inmates for their services, Combs allegedly receives money from people on the outside. The funds are deposited into prison commissary accounts belonging to inmates who carry out various tasks for him.

One inmate who was paid to clean said the shower and toilet areas were thoroughly cleaned before Combs used them. Others reportedly prepared full meals for him using a makeshift heating device submerged in water. According to the sources, the menu included chicken curry, pizza and empanadas.

Some inmates allegedly keep his cellphones and numerous letters from fans. “He gets so much stuff that he doesn’t even know what to do with it anymore,” one source said.

In July 2025, Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted, however, of charges alleging sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, as well as racketeering conspiracy. The rapper was sentenced to 50 months in prison.

According to NBC News, Combs’ attorneys sought to have him transferred to Fort Dix in hopes that he could participate in a specialized substance-abuse treatment program there. Participation in such programs can, under certain circumstances, reduce an inmate’s sentence. After arriving at the prison, the rapper did begin the program, but sources said he soon obtained a cellphone and alcohol, while the number of inmates carrying out tasks for him continued to grow.

“Pretty much from the day he got there, the party started,” one source said.

In July 2026, Combs was placed in solitary confinement following a fight with another inmate. He was later removed from the substance-abuse treatment program. After leaving isolation, however, sources said the rapper returned to his previous routine, surrounding himself with inmates who carry out his requests.

“He’s a billionaire. People admire him. Money is power, especially behind bars,” one man said.

Combs, who was once described as a billionaire, is believed to have seen his fortune shrink considerably in recent years. His current net worth is estimated at between $300 million and $400 million.

A representative for the rapper responded to the NBC News report, arguing that the media is paying excessive attention to every aspect of his client’s life in prison.

“The constant attention to every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ life in custody has reached the point where the media is presenting ordinary prison life as news,” the representative said in a statement.

“The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting a decision from the court on his appeal,” the representative added.

Meanwhile, Combs’ release date has once again been revised, according to records from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons reviewed by Page Six. The rapper could now be released on January 21, 2028. His release was initially scheduled for June of that year, but the date has been changed several times.
