At 62, Monica Bellucci remains one of the most striking women in world cinema. And her approach to diet and exercise may come as a surprise to anyone who believes that maintaining an ideal figure requires strict diets and daily workouts.
The Italian actress does not give up pasta, desserts or the occasional glass of wine. In fact, she follows a five-meals-a-day routine and has never been interested in pushing herself through exhausting workouts.

Back in 2015, Bellucci shared her recipe for feeling good: “Eat well, drink well, have good sex and laugh a lot!”
“The truth is, I love cakes and pasta, I sometimes have a glass of wine and I very rarely smoke a cigarette,” she told The Telegraph in an interview.
Throughout the day, the actress prefers smaller portions, with three main meals supplemented by two snacks. Her diet includes plenty of vegetables, fruit, lean protein and olive oil, as well as foods rich in healthy fats, such as nuts and avocados.

Bellucci also follows a principle of moderation: she does not deprive herself of her favorite foods, but keeps an eye on portion sizes.
Her relationship with exercise is equally relaxed. She does Pilates from time to time, mainly for enjoyment and to maintain mobility, and swims for around 45 minutes several times a week.
“I do, of course, exercise a little and go on a bit of a diet when I have to work, but I’m not obsessed with it,” Bellucci has admitted.
She has never wanted to be extremely thin.

“I’ve always been a woman with curves. I’ve never been very thin — that’s just my nature. And I want to age peacefully. When you’re 50 or 60, you don’t have the same needs you had at 20. You change,” the actress said.
Bellucci has also spoken openly against the idea that aging should necessarily be viewed as something negative for women.
“Either you grow old and accept the process with dignity, or you die. If you look at it from that perspective, I prefer to grow old a thousand times over.”
