News.am STYLE took an interview from a psychologist Susanna Avetisyan concerning children and their relation to receiving gifts.
When you give a gift, it means you love the child, and there is logic. Gifts do mean the person thinks about you. The child unconsciously feels that father and mother have not forgotten about their child and that they are in need of their child. And gradually the child may confuse things by the more receiving gifts may mean more being loved.
Generally parents try to replace the time which was not spent with their child with various gifts, as they do feel some kind of guilt due to their busy graphic. However, in this case the gift may be a way to soothe own conscience or to make amends.
It is necessary to know that children also get tired of gifts and toys.
“As a matter of fact, parents can purchase toys and gifts for their children, however, the time spent with the children is irreplaceable,” the expert concluded.
