Open Road Films Production has acquired the United States distribution rights to “The Promise,” the latest film on Armenian Genocide, as of April 28, 2017.
The aforesaid is informed on the official Instagram accounts of this movie and its producer, Eric Esrailian.
Earlier, Esrailian had told Variety that “The Promise” had problems closing a distribution deal and be accessible to a wider audience.
Esrailian had said the subject matter may be scaring some buyers away.
“I’ll just say that there are some studios that have business interests in Turkey, and you can form your own opinion,” he had noted.
