Armenian-American singer Tamar Kaprelian, who will participate in the project "Depi Evratesil" this February, recently has been to Armenia. NEWS.am STYLE has managed to meet the singer and even make a new photoshoot with her.
In our interiew Tamar talked about her visit to Yerevan and her preparations for "Depi Evratesil".
Tamar, we're always very happy to see you here, in Yerevan. What brought you to Armenia this time?
Came to Armenia, because I miss the country! But this trip was also important because we had to finish our song “Touyn Ari.” I also wanted a chance to talk about my music video “Noubari Boye” that we released a few months ago.
I was here for 5 days! Too short. But in January, I will be back in Armenia for a month.
You were one of the first famous artists, who announced about the participation in Depi Evratesil, now a lot of singers have joined the competition-Hasmik Shiroyan, Sevak Khanagyan, Kamil, Nemra band... Who you see as your best opponent?
I admire everyone I’ll be sharing a stage with. We’re all special in our own way. And I strongly believe that the person who deserves to go is the one who represents Armenia in the most honorable way.
Our photoshoot was held in the streets of Yerevan. Which is your favorite place in the city?
I have so many! But I love Cascade a lot and the outdoor cafes... They are all so beautiful.
When you’re in USA, what do you miss mostly about Armenia?
The food, the people, the langauge, my friends. I also miss my Nvak songwriters, and the extremely talented young people I work with there.
Can you describe your style in 3 words?
Chic, classic, minimal.
As we all are waiting for Christmas, I would like to ask where are you going to spend Christmas?
I will be in Arizona for New Years, and Los Angeles for Armenian Christmas. Spending time with family and the people that I love.
What would you wish to Armenians for New Year?
Health, happiness, and love.
