The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) will award the actor, director and producer Andy Serkis for his outstanding contribution to cinema, The Hollywood Reporter said.
According to the official statement of the organizers, Serkis, who created such characters as Gollum (“The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit”), Caesar (“War for the Planet of the Apes ”), King Kong (“King Kong”) and Snoke ( Star Wars), became a pioneer in areas such as motion capture and performance capture, and also expanded the criteria for what is considered acting in the twenty-first century.
The BAFTA Award Ceremony will be held at London's Albert Hall on February 2, 2020. Nominees were announced in early January, the leader in the number of potential awards was Todd Phillips’ film "The Joker".
