Britney Spears to address court in LA

10:27, April 29

Singer Britney Spears will testify for the first time in person in a Los Angeles court in the case of her custody, Variety and Reuters reported.

The artist's lawyer asked the court to set a date on an expedited basis.

It is not known what the singer will talk about in court.

In August last year, Britney Spears, who has been under the tutelage of her father for 13 years, filed a lawsuit demanding that her parent be stripped of her guardian status. Britney wanted her manager to control her privacy, and the Bessemer Trust, a finance company, in charge of her career. As a result, the judge appointed the Bessemer Trust co-guardian of the singer but refused to remove Jamie Spears.

In 2007, Spears divorced her husband Kevin Federline, who was granted full custody of her two sons. This was preceded by several scandalous incidents involving the singer, which were widely covered in the media.

A year later, she was admitted to a psychiatric hospital, after which she was declared temporarily incapacitated. The court-appointed her father, James Spears, the singer's guardian. Now he manages his daughter's finances and makes decisions for her. Fans are sure that this is happening against the will of the singer and that she is giving signals for help via social networks.
