In an interview with CNews TV, actor Alain Delon said he was saddened by the news about the death of his fellow actor Jean-Paul Belmondo. The legendary French actors have starred in many films and were born at almost the same time.
“I’m completely devastated. This is a part of my life. We started 60 years ago,” Delon told CNews TV.
The actors were often considered rivals, but Delon would often say that “there would be no Delon without Belmondo, and there would be no Belmondo without Delon”. They starred in legendary films such as “Borsalino”, “Be Beautiful But Shut Up” and “Half a Chance”.
Jean-Paul Belmondo died at the age of 89. He is known for the films “The Professional”, “Breathless”, “Le Magnifique” and several other films. In 2011, the actor won the Golden Palm Branch Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2016 — he received the Golden Lion Award for his contributions to global cinematography.
