The Pantone Color Institute named Viva Magenta bright pink as the color of 2023.

The company notes that it is an unconventional red for an unconventional time. Viva Magenta 18-1750 is a bright pink with hints of purple, which belongs to the family of red hues.

Pantone calls the color confident but non-aggressive, comparing it to a fist in a velvet glove.

"Brave and fearless, (Viva Magenta) is a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes optimism and joy," says Pantone vice president Laurie Pressman.
