Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH Holding, bought the Leonardo da Vinci residence in Milan, known as Casa Degli Atellani. The cost of the deal and the purpose of the acquisition were not disclosed, WWD writes.
The building was built around 1490 - Da Vinci bought it in 1498 when he was working in Milan on The Last Supper. Over the hundreds of years, the residence has changed many owners. In 1919, Senator and entrepreneur Ettore Conti became its owner, whose son-in-law, the famous architect Piero Portaluppi, was entrusted with its restoration.
The mansion is located on Tony Corso Magenta. Adjacent to it are Da Vinci's vineyards, carefully restored in 2015.
