Let's not be naive, the French people and the whole world should know that Azerbaijan will not stop there. French actor of Armenian origin Simon Abkarian said in an interview with Le Point, speaking about the latest aggression of Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
France and “we all have a role to play,” he said. “It is not enough to say what is right and what is wrong. We need coercive measures: blocking Azerbaijani assets and exports. We must punish the Azerbaijanis the same way we punished Putin's Russia. I don’t understand why we don’t do this,” he said. According to him, Armenia tried to please the Western world by democratizing the country. “But no one helped us, no one came to cooperate with us. Saying that we will protect Armenians is not enough. I believe that we should have a political and even military vision of our identity and a critical position towards our leaders."
“Let's not be naive. The French people and the whole world should know that Azerbaijan, of course, will not stop there. Besides, didn’t President Aliyev say that, ultimately, the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, is the ancestral land of Azerbaijan? While Ursula von der Leyen [head of the European Commission] was in Baku and spoke about cooperation and partnership, the Azerbaijani military tortured Armenian women soldiers, dismembered them, raped them and broadcast images on social networks... And FIFA or Eurovision go there only for the money," he said․
“I don’t want a second genocide. I know that Azerbaijan will not only try to do this, but will also do it secretly. His task is not to conquer Armenia, but to destroy it and claim that he did it legitimately. That's all. Meanwhile, European partners pretend that they do not understand this, turn a blind eye to it, and the international community forgets that it was Stalin who gave Armenia to Turkey in 1921 to please Mustafa Kemal. To ignore or forget history, to remain silent or not see anything means to participate in the destruction of the people.”
