Girard-Perregaux presents unique watch decorated with 1,791 diamonds

19:23, February 15

Girard-Perregaux embellishes your wrist with an exquisite rose gold case set with 1,791 brilliant-cut diamonds that sparkle on your wrist.

This model is an exquisite embodiment of the legendary Laureato watch, which burst onto the watch market back in 1975 with its revolutionary quartz movement and complex case shape.

The number of diamonds may seem strange, but it's for a reason. The number corresponds to the founding year of the Maison: 1791.  Each diamond features a traditional grain setting on the dial, bezel, case and bracelet. For the experienced craftsmen of Girard-Perregaux, this tedious process of setting the diamonds took 86 hours.

The result is a dazzling display of diamonds in a timepiece that boasts a timeless design that is impressive without being overpowering, giving the watch an elegant appearance. The 34mm high jewelry Laureato will go on sale this month at the Girard-Perregaux boutique in Geneva—and in partnership with Bucherer.  Its price is obtainable upon request.
