Jennifer Lopez has a new movie coming out that takes her into the realm of sci-fi action. Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the film Atlas.

Lopez plays the title character, a government analyst who travels to a distant planet to figure out how to defeat the enemy. Lopez plays Atlas Shepherd, who is “a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep mistrust of artificial intelligence. She joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving humanity's future from AI is to trust it."

The action takes place in a futuristic world. The screenplay was written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Colate. Atlas is directed by Brad Peyton, known for his work with Dwayne Johnson on San Andreas and Rampage. The movie is slated for release on Netflix on May 24.
