Margot Robbie and her company, LuckyChap, have their sights set on a feature film based on the family board game Monopoly.
Last summer, Lionsgate announced it would develop a Monopoly movie after the company acquired eOne from Hasbro. Robbie and her team are now producing the project with Lionsgate.
The studio named Monopoly the world's most popular board game brand with 99% global recognition.
Plot details are being kept secret. Variety reported that earlier during CinemaCon, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson hinted that LuckyChap had a "clear point of view" on the film.
“Like all the best IPs, this game has resonated around the world for generations, and we are thrilled to bring it to life with the amazing teams at Lionsgate and Hasbro,” LuckyChap said.
