The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its list of nominees for induction in 2024. These include—among others—Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Kool & the Gang, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osbourne.

Jimmy Buffett will be recognized for his musical prowess. Other nominees include Dionne Warwick, Norman Whitfield, Alexis Corner, John Mayall, MC5, Suzanne de Passe, and Big Mama Thornton.

Cher has been nominated for the first time. In an interview last year, she shared her thoughts on the ongoing snub, saying the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "could go you-know-where."

The winners will be selected by a jury of more than a thousand artists, historians, and music industry representatives and announced this month, with an official ceremony to take place in the fall.
