Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals some subtleties of Sylvester Stallone's unique style

22:19, April 25

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed some of the intricacies of his rival-turned-friend Sylvester Stallone's unique style. TMZ Presents Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons shows how the former competitors are similar, but also completely different.

Schwarzenegger joked that the only obvious difference between them was the way they dressed. "I guarantee this jacket is worth $10,000, it's from David August or somebody," Schwarzenegger said, admiring Stallone's bright blue jacket in contrast to his old leather jacket.

Stallone is known for his elaborate costumes.

Schwarzenegger added that while Stallone is wearing alligator loafers, he is wearing his "old cowboy boots."

However, the conversation about fashion did not end there. After completing a part of the interview, Schwarzenegger and Stallone met with their teams outside the studio, and the former California governor asked if he had guessed the designer.

"Let me see if it's really David August," Schwarzenegger said. As it turns out, Schwarzenegger was right about the designer, which led to a lot of laughs.

“Sly’s clothes are better than mine,” said Stallone’s wife, Jennifer. “The clothes are better than the rest of us,” Schwarzenegger said before going on to talk about how Stallone wears his shirts.

He recounted his visit to Stallone on set, where "Rocky" expressed his disdain for Schwarzenegger's rumpled clothes. "He says, 'Arnold, I don't like it when your shirts are baggy.'"

Schwarzenegger asked how he could correct his fashion faux pas. “He [Stallone] goes into his dressing room in his trailer and pulls his pants down,” Schwarzenegger recalled. “His shirt has something that goes under the crotch [at the back] to keep the shirt from coming out of his pants. It looked like diapers!”

“This way the shirt sticks to the body. Because God forbid you’re filming a movie and there’s a wrinkle on your shirt,” Schwarzenegger continued. “It’s like it’s unnatural.”

Stallone laughed as he told his former foe, "The magic is in the details, pal."
