A horror film will be made about the childhood of Jesus Christ. The main characters in this movie, entitled The Carpenter's Son, will be played by Nicolas Cage and UK actress FKA Twigs, who will embody the parents of Jesus, Hypebeast reports.

The film is inspired by the Infant Gospel of Thomas, an apocryphal gospel about the childhood of Jesus, dating from the mid-to-late second century.

"The Carpenter's Son tells the dark story of a family hiding in Roman Egypt," the official synopsis reads. “A son known only as ‘The Boy’ is questioned by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing innate powers and a destiny beyond his understanding. When he uses his power, the Boy and his family become the object of horrors, natural and divine.”

Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
