Armenia trip gives Tamlyn Currin ‘Drink Writer of the Year’ title

16:03, May 9

Tamlyn Currin, a wine journalist and editor-in-chief of influential online magazine JancisRobinson.com, was named Drink Writer of the Year at the 12th annual Food and Drink Awards in London. This outstanding recognition was the result of her trip to Armenia last year, where she contributed over a hundred notes and wrote several magazine articles that reflected the richness and diversity of Armenian wine culture.

“This is her most striking work, which is dedicated to the country that touched her soul. The entries in it are dedicated not only to wine, but also to history, culture, land and, above all, people. Reading There, you begin to understand why wine is worth writing and reading about. It's not just about what's in your glass. We are talking about everything that led to its appearance,” writes JancisRobinson.com.

For Tamlyn herself, this title opens up new horizons of opportunity in research and publication about wines. However, perhaps even more significant is that this award puts on a pedestal not only the author, but also her inspiration—Armenia itself—as a unique wine-growing region. This well-deserved prize gives additional “weight” to Armenian wines, their traditions, and quality.

Earlier, Tamlyn had shared, in an exclusive interview with News.am Style, her impressions of her trip to Armenia, where she highlighted several key points that left a particularly deep imprint on her.
