The best coffee shop in the world is in Sydney. At least, that’s according to a new ranking of the world’s best coffee shops, which has the Australian city overtaking its eternal rival Melbourne to take the top spot, CNN reports.

Sydney’s Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters was named the best coffee shop in the world, followed by Onyx Coffee Lab from Arkansas, Gota Coffee Experts from Vienna, Proud Mary Coffee from Melbourne, and Tim Wendelboe from Oslo.

The top 10 also included coffee shops from Singapore, France, Malaysia, and Colombia.

According to the website of the “World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops” ranking, coffee shops around the world were judged on factors ranging from the quality of their coffee and food, sustainability practices, and customer service. Both public opinion and expert opinion were taken into account when choosing the final choice.

The Toby’s Estate coffee chain was founded in 1997 when lawyer Toby Smith started the business in his mother’s garage in Woolloomooloo, an eastern Sydney suburb on the harbour.

Coming in second was Arkansas-based Onyx Coffee Lab. The company has three branches in Bentonville, Fayetteville and Springdale, but it’s unclear which one made the list. Vienna-based Gota Coffee, which came in third, took to social media to express its gratitude for the recognition.
