Karen Torosyan named Gault&Millau Chef of the Year 2025

15:39, November 5

Brussels-based chef Karen Torosyan, head of the acclaimed Bozar restaurant, has been named Chef of the Year 2025 by the prestigious French guide Gault&Millau. Torosyan described the honor as a “dream come true.”

Bozar earned 17.5 points out of 20, and Torosyan, already a two-Michelin-starred chef, now adds the coveted title of Chef of the Year to his impressive résumé.

At the award ceremony in Heizel, Torosyan thanked his colleagues, emphasizing that their support and inspiration have been key to his success. He also highlighted the role of his family and restaurant team, inviting them onstage and acknowledging that the award belongs to them equally.

“This Armenian-born chef, who fell in love with Belgium, commands respect,” Gault&Millau noted. “From dishwasher to top chef, every step of his career demonstrates incredible determination.”

The guide also pointed out that “the evolution of Torosyan’s scores and accolades speaks for itself.”

At Bozar, which is steadily gaining cult status, Torosyan elevates classic dishes with technical mastery and precision. His cuisine reflects a dedication to craft, passion, and a deep respect for ingredients.
