Jean Paul Gaultier launches luxury niche fragrance collection priced at €260

23:01, May 20

The fashion house Jean Paul Gaultier is moving further into the high-end niche perfume market with a new premium line called Les Ateliers Gaultier, according to WWD.

The collection is designed as an homage to the brand’s founder, Jean Paul Gaultier, and its couture heritage, blending haute couture aesthetics with fine perfumery.

Each fragrance will retail at around €260 for a 100 ml bottle and will be sold in a single format only, firmly positioning the line in the ultra-premium niche segment.

According to the brand, the higher price point allows for the use of more rare ingredients and collaboration with top-tier perfumers.

Six fragrances by leading noses

The collection includes six scents created by well-known perfumers:

  • Rose Palace — Damask rose and black sesame
  • French Oud — a modern take on oud with citrus notes
  • Cuir 1976 — leather with chestnut accents
  • Musc Terrible — musk with vanilla, cinnamon, and pink pepper
  • Ambre Tatouage — amber and fig
  • Santal Paname — sandalwood and blackberry

Each fragrance is conceived as an emotional narrative combining tradition and experimentation.

The bottles feature a retro-inspired design referencing the house’s archives, with metallic details reminiscent of safety pins and atelier-inspired craftsmanship.

Packaging reinforces the couture connection through decorative stitching and white-and-gold graphic design.

Global rollout strategy

The launch will begin in Paris at Printemps and Charles de Gaulle Airport, followed by expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and travel retail channels.
