Secret Escape from 'Exile': Disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Treated to Free French Holiday by Arab Billionaire

14:14, June 22

The disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor secretly left his modest refuge on the royal Sandringham estate—where he is living in virtual exile—for a luxurious, all-expenses-paid vacation hosted by an Arab billionaire, the Daily Mail reports.

The former Duke of York spent a relaxing weekend in the rural depths of Brittany, France, as a VIP guest of a UAE equestrian tycoon. Mohammad A. Baker, a 38-year-old billionaire who amassed his fortune in sportswear retail, invited the ex-prince to stay at his renowned equestrian farm near the northwestern French town of Saint-Malo.

A Mysterious Injury: Where Did the Bruise Come From?

The most intriguing twist in the tale came at the end of the trip. Just 72 hours after returning to his Norfolk home, Andrew was photographed with a prominent bruise on his face. By all indications, the former royal sustained the mysterious injury during his stay in France.

  • The Departure: Andrew flew out of Norwich International Airport to Dinard Airport in Brittany on a private jet entirely funded by Mr. Baker.

  • The Stay (May 31 – June 1): The ex-prince spent three days at the secluded equestrian complex, riding horses along a deserted French beach, playing pétanque in a historic courtyard, and indulging in gourmet meals prepared by a private chef.

  • The Aftermath: He returned to the UK on the evening of June 1. By the morning of June 4, paparazzi caught sight of Andrew leaving the estate with a noticeable bruise on his face.

"The royal stayed here for a few days. He only had one bodyguard with him," an estate worker revealed. "He and Mohammad went horseback riding together. There is a direct trail from the stables to a secluded beach. The location is incredibly beautiful. And the food and wine at Mohammad’s house are always of exceptional quality."

High-Society Connections and a Middle Eastern Lifeline

Mohammad Baker is the head of the Gulf Marketing Group (GMG) conglomerate and a literal "sneaker king" across the Middle East and Southeast Asia, holding distribution rights for brands like Nike, Puma, Timberland, and The North Face.

While a direct connection between Andrew and Baker had not been previously reported, the two share a vast network of influential mutual acquaintances. Baker was personally appointed as a UAE trade representative by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Andrew, during his tenure as a UK trade envoy, met with the Sheikh on numerous occasions. Furthermore, the ruler of Dubai shared a decades-long friendship with the late Queen Elizabeth II over their mutual passion for horse racing, meetings which Andrew frequently attended.

While Andrew's ties to convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein made him a social outcast in the West, the scandal has had virtually no impact on his reputation among wealthy Arab partners. Rumors even suggest that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan went so far as to offer Andrew an all-expenses-paid residence in his kingdom as a safe haven.

Under Investigation But Free to Travel

The 66-year-old Andrew’s life took a drastic turn in February of this year when he was permanently evicted from the luxurious Royal Lodge in Windsor and relocated to a remote farmhouse in Sandringham.

The situation escalated further on February 19, when Thames Valley Police arrested the ex-prince in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was interrogated for 11 hours. Andrew stands accused of passing confidential market intelligence to Jeffrey Epstein during his time serving as a UK trade representative.

This follows King Charles III’s official move last October to strip his brother of his Prince title, royal ranks, and honors, mandating that he be referred to strictly as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
