At the Belgian Grand Prix, racing was far from the only spectacle on the circuit. Serving as the title sponsor of the race for the second consecutive year, champagne house Moët & Chandon helped launch a unique culinary experience that allowed guests to dine while moving directly along the legendary track.
The gastronomic journey, dubbed The Out Lap, takes place aboard a sleek bus equipped with floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Inside, Michelin-starred French chef Yannick Alléno and Moët & Chandon Cellar Master Benoît Gouez serve refined tasting menus—pairing dishes like Wagyu beef, foie gras, and glazed eel with fine vintages such as the Grand Vintage Collection 1996.
Across three track runs, intimate groups of 12 were accompanied by former Formula 1 drivers Jacques Villeneuve, Karun Chandhok, and Naomi Schiff, alongside renowned commentator David Croft. The hosts shared insider racing stories at the circuit's most iconic stretches, including the legendary Eau Rouge corner.
Developed jointly by Formula 1 and Moët Hennessy (the wines and spirits division of luxury conglomerate LVMH), this VIP experience commands a price tag of $13,450 per person. This season, the project is also set to roll out at the Dutch, Italian, and Spanish Grands Prix, with menus tailored to highlight local cuisine. Next year, the experience will expand to even more races on the calendar, underscoring the scale of LVMH’s 10-year partnership with Formula 1.
“This is where we complement each other perfectly and generate new ideas,” Sibylle Scherer, CEO of Moët & Chandon, shared in an interview with WWD. “The success of Formula 1 stems from the fact that it is always in motion and constantly innovating. We learn from each other, rethink the past, and create the future.”
