Coco Mademoiselle is entering a richer, more magnetic era: the new Crush Absolu fragrance is inspired by instinct, freedom and the thrill of unexpected adventures.
To mark the 25th anniversary of one of Chanel’s most iconic fragrances, the house has taken a fresh look at a composition that has long been beloved by millions of women. Created by Jacques Polge in 2001 to celebrate the vitality and free spirit of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, Coco Mademoiselle is now entering a new, more intense chapter with Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu.
This time, the reinterpretation was created by perfumer Olivier Polge. The idea is simple: to capture the image of a woman who doesn’t simply enter a room, but transforms its atmosphere the moment she arrives.
The new version has already attracted the attention of fragrance lovers around the world. Its purpose is not to completely reinvent the familiar scent, but to reveal another facet of the Coco Mademoiselle woman.
“Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu is an assertion of individuality. The fragrance offers a deeply personal experience that exists only in the moment it is worn,” Olivier Polge says.
The intense amber composition retains the recognizable identity of the original and the same iconic bottle, while making the fragrance warmer, richer and more enveloping.
The fruity notes gradually give way to a woody-amber accord, creating what Chanel describes as a rare balance between modernity and sensual luxury. At the heart of the composition is a subtle interplay between radiance and depth: grapefruit and lychee bring a vibrant fruity freshness, while rose and jasmine add sensuality. Patchouli forms a soft, soothing base, while vanilla and vetiver make the composition even more complex and multifaceted.
The idea of daring to leave the familiar world behind and embark on new adventures continues in the fragrance’s advertising film. Directed by Joe Wright, the campaign stars Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Gracie Abrams, who has previously appeared on the cover of Vogue, as the new face of Coco Mademoiselle.
