Suge Knight has revealed bizarre details about the events that followed Tupac Shakur’s death, claiming that the rapper’s mother, along with several other people, rolled his cremated remains into joints and smoked them.

The 61-year-old former Death Row Records executive was in a car with Tupac in 1996 when a white Cadillac pulled up alongside them and opened fire. Both men were wounded, but only Knight survived.

After Shakur’s death, his mother handled the funeral arrangements. According to Knight, she insisted that the rapper be cremated as quickly as possible.

Speaking to TMZ, Knight said the urgency surrounding the cremation was so great that he allegedly offered $1.2 million to have it carried out.

According to the former Death Row boss, he managed to contact someone late at night who initially refused to help, saying he did not have enough time. Knight then offered him money.

He arrived with two bags of cash — one containing $200,000 and the other $1 million. The initial offer of $200,000 did not interest the man, but after Knight named the $1 million figure, he agreed to fulfill the request immediately.

After the cremation, Tupac’s mother invited Knight to the Las Vegas hotel where she was staying. There, she and several other people allegedly ground up the rapper’s ashes, mixed them with tobacco or marijuana, rolled several joints and smoked them.

Knight himself refused to participate. At the time, he was on probation and feared that using drugs could violate the terms of his release.

Knight made the shocking claim amid the ongoing trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who is accused of murdering Tupac Shakur.

The trial began in Las Vegas on August 17. Davis has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon, along with an additional gang-related enhancement.

According to prosecutors, he provided the weapon and was inside the same white Cadillac from which the shots were fired.

Despite being a direct participant in the events and sustaining injuries in the shooting himself, Knight does not plan to testify in court.

His name is included on the list of potential witnesses, but that does not necessarily mean prosecutors will call him to testify.

On August 18, former Mob Piru Bloods member James McDonald — an associate of Knight’s — already took the stand. He described himself as a “hostile witness” and said he had appeared in court against his will after being subpoenaed.

Davis has repeatedly denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty. In his book Compton Street Legend, he provided his own account of the events on that fateful night and also made a number of statements during a police interview.

The court has ruled that both the book and recordings of his interview are admissible as evidence.

Now, the verdict in one of the most mysterious murders in hip-hop history will ultimately be decided in court. It remains unclear, however, whether Davis himself will choose to take the stand in his own defense.
