“No Fillers and Fried Bugs”: Salma Hayek Turns 60 and Reveals Her Secrets to Ageless Beauty

12:47, September 3

Hollywood sex symbol of the ’90s and star of cult classics Dogma and From Dusk Till Dawn, Salma Hayek has officially celebrated her 60th birthday. The actress continues to amaze fans with her stunning, seemingly timeless beauty and youthful appearance.

Hayek has never been shy about sharing her beauty secrets, skincare routine and unusual eating habits. Here’s what she credits for maintaining her flawless look:

No Botox — But Plenty of Technology

Salma has categorically denied having plastic surgery or using injectable treatments, insisting: “No Botox, no fillers, no peels.”

  • Instead, she relies on modern non-invasive treatments, including radiofrequency skin tightening and microcurrent therapy.
  • Her secret weapon is tepezcohuite, a Mexican tree-bark extract traditionally used to treat burns. Hayek has claimed that it can “completely regenerate the skin.”

“I Don’t Exercise — I Work”

The actress admits she lacks the time and discipline for regular morning workouts. Instead, she focuses on keeping her muscles engaged and maintaining good posture throughout the day.

A personal trainer taught her how to activate her muscles while doing ordinary everyday tasks — even brushing her teeth.

Hayek also practices restorative yoga to tone her body without putting excessive strain on it. From time to time, she gets creative with cardio, dancing on a treadmill instead of running.

Another of the actress’s passions is massage, including facial lymphatic drainage, which she says helps stimulate circulation and oxygenate the tissues.

A Vegetable-Packed Breakfast — and Fried Bugs

Hayek is skeptical of strict diets (“I don’t like them and I’m not good at following them”), but she pays close attention to the quality of the food she eats.

  • Her signature breakfast: A mix of yogurt, papaya, blueberries, mango, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, celery, red bell pepper, cucumber, almond oil and coconut oil. According to Salma, it may sound strange, but it tastes fantastic.
  • Her exotic snack: The actress is a fan of Mexican delicacies including fried crickets, ant eggs and caterpillars. “If you fry something, it’s going to taste good, but they really are incredible!” she insists.
  • Her reset ritual: For a detox and a fresh start, the star turns to juice cleanses, which she says also help her cope with emotional eating during periods of stress.
