Well-known American rapperJay-Z sued the Mississippi’s prison.
The musician filed a lawsuit on behalf of 29 prisoners against the head and manager of correctional facilities in the US state of Mississippi, NBC News reported.
“These deaths are a direct result of Mississippi’s utter disregard for the people it has incarcerated and their constitutional rights,” according to the lawsuit, which was filed by Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro at the U.S. District Court in Greenville, Mississippi.
The reason was the inaction of officials who did nothing to stop the violence. Five prisoners have been killed over the past two weeks.
