Will Smith's wife speaks about passing away on set due to drugs addiction

16:38, July 12

The wife of Hollywood actor Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, told how she once passed out on the set in 1996 due to a low-quality batch of drugs.

In an episode of the Red Table Talk program, which was posted on the show's Facebook account, the actress recalled her heavy addiction to illegal substances and alcohol.

Pinkett-Smith said that she started drinking as a teenager, and then decided to mix alcohol with drugs.

"I was a brown liquor drinker, vodka," she tells her daughter Willow Smithand mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, in the clip. "I could drink almost anybody under the table."

She continues, "When I moved to red wine like, 'This is better for me because they say red wine is good for you.' But drinking red wine for me was like drinking glasses of water… because I'm used to that hard hit."

"I was drinking hard in high school, too," she says. "When I got out [to California], I was doing cocktails, so: ecstasy, alcohol, weed."

“I had one incident,” Pinkett Smith said. “That was an eye-opening incident for me as well. I had one incident on Nutty Professor. I passed out. Makeup trailer.”

“And I told everybody that I had taken–I must’ve had old medication in a vitamin bottle. That’s what I said,” Pinkett Smith continued. “But I tell you what I did though: got my ass together and got on that set. That was the last time.”

After that, she decided to part with the destructive habits. Since then, Pinkett Smith has led a life without banned substances.
