Famous Armenian Chico& Friends jazz band gave a concert on October 26 in Mezzo Classic HOUSE CLUB within the framework of ARM JAZZ WEEK-75 dedicated to the 75th of the Armenian jazz.
The jazz band headed by founder Armen Tutunjyan (Chico) is marking its 20th anniversary this year.
Talking to NEWS.am STYLE correspondent, Armen Tutunjyan said he had written a book about jazz history and development of jazz in Armenia that will be published by Antares editing house soon.
Armen Tutunjyan categorically opposes the idea of “Armenian jazz”, noting that this concept narrows the genre.
“Today we have jazz in all its manifestations,” he emphasized.
The organizer and chief sponsor of the concert is Mezzo Production.
