The London National Gallery has renamed Edgar Degas' drawing Russian Dancers to Ukrainian Dancers” in connection with the situation in Ukraine, The Guardian reported.
The title of this painting has been the subject of constant discussion over the years and has been covered in the scientific literature, but over the past month it has received increased attention due to the current situation. Therefore, it was an opportune moment to update the name of the painting so that it better reflects its plot, the publication reported referring to a representative of the National Gallery.
The canvas of the French impressionist Edgar Degas Russian dancers depicts a group of dancing girls with yellow and blue ribbons woven into their hair.
