Emilia Clarke says there's 'quite a bit' of her brain 'missing' after two aneurysms

17:14, July 18

"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke spoke about the consequences of surgery after an illness that led to a stroke.

The disease first made itself felt at the beginning of work on the series: in 2011, she burst her first aneurysm, which led to a stroke - it happened shortly after the filming of the first series of "Game of Thrones". Two years later, the problem returned again: in 2013, a medical examination showed that the aneurysm had doubled in size. Because of this, the actress required brain surgery.

“The amount of my brain that is no longer usable, it’s remarkable that I am able to speak – sometimes articulately! – and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions,” she explained.

“I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”
