A woman who accused Bob Dylan of sexual abuse has withdrawn her lawsuit after 50 years, Billboard writes, citing the lawyer of the musician Orin Snyder.
Withdrawal of the claim came after the defense accused the plaintiff's lawyers of destroying evidence and threatened monetary sanctions.
The musician's lawyer, Orin Snyder, announced that the case is closed "forever", the American woman will no longer be able to accuse Dylan on the same grounds.
"This case is over. It is outrageous that it was ever brought in the first place. We are pleased that the plaintiff has dropped this lawyer-driven sham and that the case has been dismissed with prejudice," the lawyer said.
The lawsuit was filed last August. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous and is identified in court documents as JC, claimed that the performer raped her in 1965 when she was 12 years old.
