This week Kim Jones will present not one, but two new Dior collections in Egypt. In addition to the main men's line, viewers will be able to see a capsule designed by the founder of streetwear brand Denim Tears and the creative director of Supreme, WWD writes.
The Dior Tears line will be shown during an event at the Grand Egyptian Museum, located on the edge of the desert in Giza, which is expected to open in 2023. The imposing building, designed by Heneghan Peng Architects, will house ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection.
Emory said the collection will be a tribute to black artists and authors, including writer James Baldwin and jazz musician Miles Davis. At the heart of the capsule is the romance of celebrating who you are, where you come from.
The lookbook for the capsule collection was shot by London-based photographer Liz Johnson Artur, originally from Ghana. Her work documents the lives of black people from around the world.
