American singer Taylor Swift has set a new record with her Midnights album. Within eight weeks she had sold six million copies of the record, three million of which were sold in the United States. Swift became the only artist whose five albums sold more than 1 million copies within a week of release. The NME reports.
Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO, Sir Lucian Grainge said, “Taylor is a multidimensional creative force whose achievements place her among the most accomplished artists in the history of music, and we are thrilled and honored to partner with her across so many aspects of her career.”
Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' is stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout her life. In November, the singer announced The Eras Tour, which will include 52 concerts in the U.S.
