Kim Kardashian has come under fire for attempting to sell a "dirty" Hermès Birkin bag on her family's website, Kardashian Kloset.
The 43-year-old SKIMS founder, whose collection includes several unique Hermès bags, is asking $70,000 for a rare matte gray alligator handbag that is said to be in “good condition.” A further description of the bag, however, notes that "there is some discoloration on the handles and bottom corners of the bag, as well as minor scratches on the metal hardware."
The description adds that the bag does not come with a CITES certificate, a document required if you plan to travel with a bag or accessory made from exotic leather, including alligator.
Fans were outraged by this offer. “Seriously, how desperate are they for money?”; “70 thousand for a dirty bag, damn it!”; “The hardware is all worn and dull, the edges are worn and slightly frayed, and it is discolored from makeup or self-tanning. Just wow. Anyone who buys this from them is an idiot, they don't even bother to restore the bag or store it properly. Is she even real? If you have 70 grand to spend on a bag, why do you need used Kardashian bags?”
But the $70,000 price tag may not be the worst deal, as new similar bags cost $120,000.
Earlier this month, Kim listed her Porosus Crocodile Birkin bag for $49,995, along with two other Birkins, and several Louis Vuitton duffle bags and Chanel items.
