Yohji Yamamoto's exhibition, entitled "Letter to the Future," will be held in Milan. The event marks the first major showcase of Yamamoto's work in Italy, featuring a carefully curated selection of his iconic creations that have had a profound impact on the fashion industry, reports Hypebeast.
Renowned for his innovative use of the color black and unique clothing construction, this exhibition of Yamamoto will be curated by Sapienza University of Rome professor Alessio de Navasquez.
The exhibition will include a mix of Yamamoto's classic runway pieces as well as his recent and upcoming collections, highlighting his ongoing influence on the aesthetics of contemporary fashion.
Conceived as a holistic installation within the industrial yet ethereal reimagined space of the Corso Como gallery, the setting is intended to complement Yamamoto's design philosophy, which focuses on the dynamic interaction between body and space.
Gallery visitors will find themselves in an environment that reflects the essence of Yohji Yamamoto's artistic vision, with each piece conveying a dialogue about time, form, and aesthetic evolution.
