Shogun seasons two and three are officially in development at FX and Hulu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, creators Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo, executive producer Michaela Clavell, and lead star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada will be part of the next two seasons.
The series is based on the novel by James Clavell, about English navigator William Adams, who became a samurai in Japan under the leadership of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Shogun has become the most-watched series in FX history. It follows English sailor John Blackthorne "who is shipwrecked in Japan, whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately change his destiny."
